We ran across a new dating blog today, and we thought that we would share it with you. It is a pretty funny take on dating, more specifically dating in the Jewish community, as the name of the blog suggests 50 first J dates. The blog is well written, and an interesting take on dating and is getting some serious coverage, including the Huffington Post, which is where we first saw it.

The easiest way to get the engagement ring you want is to buy it yourself. This theory is long help, but rarely practiced, but perhaps that is all about to change. It was reported earlier this week that Jessica Simpson fame purchased her own engagement ring. Good on her!

Perhaps more people will follow her lead! although we are guessing some women might request that the man foot the bill, or at least pay his fair share, but a woman picking out the accessory that will be with her for potentially decades seems like a reasonable idea.

A lot of people submit their information through our ‘ring sellers form’ then email us and ask if we would like more information. The answer is yes, we would love more information… give us everything you have! If you have documentation from an appraisal, a scan of the certification, or even a picture of the certification, that all would be very helpful. The more we know about your engagement ring the more our offer is going to be. Images are a great help as well, so don’t think that just because you don’t have a certification for your engagement ring diamond doesn’t mean we don’t want more info!

Do You Buy Engagement Rings From Canada, Eh?

The simple answer is… yes!

The more complicated answer is yes and yes.

We buy diamonds from consumers in Canada, and we buy Canadian Diamonds.

Be sure not to confuse the two, because Canadian diamonds are beautiful and fairly prevalent in the US market, and their are more than a few Canadian’s who are looking to sell their diamonds. We buy diamonds from Americans, and from Canadians, and we buy Canadian diamonds from Americans and Canadians. if this is to confusing, just remember, if you have a diamond engagement ring that you are looking to sell, Engagement Ring Cycling can help!

We get a lot of questions, I mean A LOT of questions, about custom rings, or rings that are several decades old, but they all boil down to one of two questions:

1) Is my ring worth more because it’s old? or
2) Will you buy my ring even though its old?

The answer is no and yes. Unless you are an octogenarian who was married in their early teens, any ring that was new at the time of your wedding isn’t old enough to fall into the antique category. If you received a vintage ring at the time of your wedding, that may be another story, and we are happy to help you with that ring as well! The answer to the second question is a resounding yes. Even if your ring isn’t currently in vogue, it still has a great deal of value, and we are more than happy to purchase it from you.
